Logbook #3 – AF Fluvial Conseil

Field perspectives on river cruising, territories, and the people who bring them to life

In 2026, AF Fluvial Conseil is stepping up discussions around shore-side river cruise reception: the launch of a new webinar series, a renewed approach to on-site visits, structuring digital projects, and tailored support for territories and river cruise companies.

This third logbook provides an opportunity to take a cross-cutting look at what has been built over recent weeks and at what lies ahead in the months to come.

In this issue:

À bord du territoire

In 2026, AF Fluvial Conseil is launching “À bord du territoire”, a series of three webinars dedicated to shore-side river cruise reception and on-the-ground realities.

Three exchange sessions designed to take a step back, cross perspectives and share field-based insights on shore-side river cruising, in connection with territories, local stakeholders and cruise companies.

These webinars are intended for territories, stopover sites and all stakeholders who wish to better understand the expectations of cruise companies, crews and passengers, while taking local constraints into account.

Mon Tour de France des escales

Meeting people, listening, sharing… My Tour de France of stopover sites is evolving

More than ever, the objective remains the same: to meet stopover sites, their teams and local partners, and to exchange around shore-side river cruise reception, with no commercial approach.

From now on, only stopover sites that have expressed a clear interest will be included in the itinerary. No visit without prior exchange, and no communication without local involvement.

For each river, the stopover site identified as the most welcoming will be offered a full diagnostic carried out by AF Fluvial Conseil, in order to highlight existing actions and identify realistic and adapted areas for improvement.

Fluvial Connect & Destination Fluviale

Structuring, promoting and connecting the river cruise ecosystem

Officially launched on January 5, Fluvial Connect and Destination Fluviale have already generated many discussions and questions.

Both projects address the same key challenge:

👉 better structuring and promoting the river cruise ecosystem, both shore-side and on the water.

Fluvial Connect is designed to connect cruise companies, stopover sites, visitor sites and local businesses around a shared vision of shore-side river cruise reception.
Destination Fluviale is positioned as a recognition and qualification approach for territories committed to developing and improving river cruise reception.

Following numerous requests, a reflection is currently underway regarding the integration of hotel barges and recreational boating, with a potential rollout from May.
