A field-based approach, by invitation from territories
My Tour de France of Stopover Sites was born out of a simple intention:
đ to go out and meet river stopover sites and local stakeholders, to exchange, understand on-the-ground realities and highlight existing initiatives around shore-side river cruise reception.
This approach is intended to be human, professional and non-commercial.
It is based above all on dialogue and on a shared desire to move the sector forward.
đ An approach that evolves to remain coherent
With the start of the new year, Mon Tour de France des Escales is evolving in the way it is organised.
From now on, visits will take place only in territories that have clearly expressed their interest and their wish to engage in an exchange.
In practical terms:
- stopover sites are contacted in advance,
- without feedback or an expression of interest, no visit will take place,
- and therefore no communication or promotion of the territory concerned.
This evolution is not a withdrawal, but a deliberate choice:
đ to prioritise sincere exchanges,
đ to respect everyoneâs time and energy,
đ to work with actors who are genuinely engaged in the river dynamic.
đ€ An exchange-based approach, not prospecting
Mon Tour de France des escales remains entirely free of any commercial approach.
Each meeting is intended to:
- exchange on reception practices,
- understand local constraints,
- highlight existing actions,
- share experience and feedback useful to the wider sector.
These are moments of listening and reflection, as close as possible to field realities.
đ Highlighting committed stopover sites
At the end of each river stage, the stopover site identified as the most welcoming will be offered:
đ a full diagnostic, carried out by AF Fluvial Conseil,
âĄïž fully funded and offered.
This diagnostic represents:
- recognition of the work undertaken locally,
- and not a commercial consideration.
It notably makes it possible to:
and showcase actions already implemented.
provide a structured external perspective,
identify the territoryâs strengths,
highlight areas for improvement,
đ± An approach based on willingness and commitment
Mon Tour de France des escales is intended for territories that:
- wish to exchange around shore-side river cruise reception,
- are willing to share their practices,
- and are engaged in a dynamic of progress and promotion.
đ Because river cruising is built in the field,
đ and the strongest dynamics always arise from shared commitment.
